  • Introduction to Brewing Methods

Barista Skills Level 2

Duration: 6 hours

What you’ll learn:

  • Coffee process and hybrids - advanced knowledge
  • Grind size- understand grind size and its application, calibrating grinder for good espresso
  • Tasting- Indian filter coffee, cold brew, different types of Arabica and Robusta
  • Latte art- basic knowledge
  • Understanding extraction- coffee brews from different processes
  • Manual brew- in-depth understanding (time, extraction, grind size, roast level and more).

Latte Art

Latte Art Level 1

Duration: 4 hours

What you’ll learn:

  • Basics of - Coffee, Blend, and Cappuccino
  • Espresso techniques – Grinding and Tamping
  • Frothing – SCA standards
  • Basic rules of latte art: high and steady
  • Making of Latte Art – Leaves, Heart, Dragon, 3D Cappuccino
  • Use of the stylus and the squeezer
Latte Art Level 2

Duration: 6 hours

What you’ll learn:

  • Review level 1
  • Combine more figures in one cup: multiple hearts, leaves, etc
  • Practise complex figures- three rosettas, reverse vortex, swan
  • Improve contrast and symmetry in a cup
  • Mock Latte Art Challenge- in-house competition, grading system, how to accomplish a great latte art, insights on various competition cups.

Manual Brewing

Manual Brewing Level 1

Duration: 4 hours

  • Brewing Equipment and its technique
  • Grind size, Time and Temperature
  • Tasting and Cupping
  • Build Expertise in 2 types of Manual Brew
  • Use one coffee to understand changes based on different variables
Manual Brewing Level 2

Duration: 5 hours

  • Review level 1,
  • In-depth understanding of Extraction - learning 4-5 equipment, experimenting with variables and how to change them, using a TDS & Refractometer
  • Impact of extraction- compare different coffees by taste by various extraction methods
  • Tasting techniques- understand and build techniques of tasting minimum 2 coffees

  • Coffee tasting sheet- meaning, usage and phases of coffee tasting (visual, olfactory, assessing, tactile and aftertaste)
  • Cupping professionally- professional system of coffee tasting, improvising techniques, usage at home
  • Specialty (single origin) coffee tasting- cupping Robusta and best washed Arabica
  • Expresso tasting- Specialty and blended
